Nursing has a long tradition of ethical discourse, with topics that address the closeness and intimacy of nursing work, the repartition of work and responsibility within hierarchical hospital structures, and the dynamics of the nurse-patient encounters. Although nursing ethics is not an ethics "on its own", addressing ethical issues germane to the nursing team is part of the routine work of clinical ethics. The clinical ethics unit has a longstanding work in the domain of nursing ethics, with a representation of both the clinical, conceptual and interprofessional aspects. The clinical aspects involve nurse-specific ethics education, training of mentors in addressing nursing students' ethical issues and interprofessional collaboration.
