Care Planning and Advance care planning in patients with severe anorexia nervosa

At the University Hospital of Zurich, severely ill Anorexia nervosa patients are treated in an internationally renowned center for eating disorders. Out of clinical practice and ethics consultations, a research collaboration of the clinical ethics unit and other researchers at the IBME and the Centre of Eating Disorders at the USZ has published guidelines, conceptual and clinical case papers on ethical issues regarding appropriate understanding and treatment of this specifically vulnerable population.

We are currently preparing research grants on the evaluation of decision making of anorexia nervosa patients and on advance care planning adapted to the specific needs of this group, with the highest mortality of psychosomatic diseases.
