New paper by Roberto Andorno, Mirriam Tyebally Fang et al.: “Geneva Statement on Heritable Human Genome Editing: The Need for Course Correction”

The Statement, published in Trends in Biotechnology on January 31, 2020, originated at a Workshop at the Brocher Foundation co-organized by Roberto Andorno and Marcy Darnovsky (Center for Genetics and Society, Berkeley, Cal.) in January 2019. The Statement points to the need to clarify misrepresentations, draw attention to the societal consequences of human germline engineering, and foster public empowerment and deliberation around the potential uses of this technology.
