Short Bio

Gabriela Nemecek graduated from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in 2021 with a Master's degree in Nursing Science (MScN). Her master's thesis focused on loneliness among caregivers of people with dementia. She gained work experience at the University Hospital Zurich and the Psychiatric University Hospital. She is currently working as a nursing expert in a regional hospital in Central Switzerland, in addition to her role as a research assistant in the Master of Nursing Science programme at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Her main responsibilities at the ZHAW are hybrid teaching, organising events, supervising Master's theses, organising Master's thesis defences and working on different research projects. Her main research interest revolves around loneliness from different perspectives, including patients, family members and healthcare professionals.
