Short Bio

I completed a PhD degree in Law at the Yerevan State University in 2020, with a dissertation on the implementation of coercive medical measures to individuals with mental health conditions in Armenia. In my dissertation, I made a particular emphasis on the need to safeguard the rights of such individuals. More recently, I obtained a Masters of Law degree (LLM) from the University of Edinburgh, UK, with a research project on the Covid-19 pandemic and human rights. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University and a Research Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. In 2023, my interdisciplinary research project on neurotechnologies and minding rights received a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation that allows me to conduct a short-term research visit at the IBME of the University of Zurich.
