Claudia Vorheyer, PhD, is a sociologist with expertise in qualitative social research. She holds a doctorate in sociology from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and has worked at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Leipzig as well as at the Department of Sociology at the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on professional meaning-making and institutional practices in socially sensitive areas, such as the regulation of sex work within public health, among other domains. At the University of Zurich, she has also conducted biographical research on onward migrants, exploring identity construction and experiences of belonging through autobiographical-narrative interviews. At the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine (IBME), she contributes her methodological and thematic expertise to a study on healthcare quality and gender dysphoria in the Canton of Zurich.
