Short bio
Beatrix Göcking is pursuing a Ph.D. in biomedical ethics and law, exploring the complex realm of medical decision-making in the digital age. With a foundation in religious studies, focusing on social sciences, gender studies, and political studies, complemented by practical experience as a critical care nurse in the intensive care unit, she brings a holistic perspective to her work.
Her research aims to support individuals who have suffered severe acute brain injury, along with their loved ones and health professionals in treatment decisions aligned with patient values. Beyond academia, she is passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in scientific and socio-political discussions, specifically addressing gender-specific healthcare gaps.
