Dr. Spitale to Speak at Voices - European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy

Dr. Spitale, a postdoctoral researcher at IBME, will be speaking at the upcoming European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy (Florence, 14-16 March 2024). Dr. Spitale's session, titled "Use of media: philosophical and practical aspects" (shared with Italian philosopher Maura Gancitano and chaired by EAVI’s Founding Member and Secretary General Paolo Celot) will delve into pressing questions about our relationship with AI technology in today's information environment.

With expertise in AI ethics and infodemics, Dr. Spitale will lead a discussion on how digital technologies shape our daily lives, well-being, and civic engagement. Topics will include media manipulation, digital distractions, and the societal effects of our connectedness.

The festival aims to celebrate journalism and informed citizenship while addressing modern challenges in media consumption. Dr. Spitale's participation reflects IBME's dedication to fostering critical dialogue in digital ethics.
