May Al-Madaney completed her pharmacy degree at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and her master’s degree in biochemistry at George Washington University in the US. She started her professional life as a pharmacist and then decided to concentrate her efforts on research. Afterwards, she has worked as a Research Specialist at the Research Center of the King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) in Riyadh. With the expansion of the research activities at the KFMC, she decided to specialize in research ethics and started to represent the Research Center at the Institutional Review Board of KFMC as a Clinical Research Auditor, contributing actively with the ethical review and follow-up of research projects, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines (GCP).
Her PhD research aims to identify the degree of knowledge that researchers in Saudi Arabia have of existing guidelines on biomedical research and of the rights of research participants.
